Zero Carbon Industry Research Institute

Zero Carbon Industry Research Institute is an international non-profit organization based in Montreal Canada, dedicated to promoting research and partnerships to advance the industrialization of zero-carbon emission technologies. We are dedicated to advancing research in the field of zero-emission science and technology, and fostering collaborative partnerships .

Company positioning:

By leveraging digital and intelligent technologies to reshape the monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) system for carbon assets, we aim to become a leading international provider of digital carbon infrastructure.

Vision and Mission

Digital and intelligent technologies are reshaping the global carbon asset value chain, building an absolute trust bridge connecting high-quality carbon removal projects with leaders in global climate action, and accelerating the global transition to a Net-Negative economy.

Value proposition:

By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain-based certificate storage, and artificial intelligence (AI) lifecycle assessment, we aim to eliminate information asymmetry in the development process of carbon assets, ensuring that every ton of carbon credits can be monitored and supervised.

Zero Carbon Energy Sources

Zero carbon means that no carbon emissions are being produced from a product or service (for example, a wind farm generating electricity, or a battery deploying electricity).

Hydrogen and synthetic non-carbon fuels (ammonia), as well as battery power derived from zero- carbon electricity based on solar, wind, hydro or nuclear power are some of the options for reducing GHG emissions, which could be considered (effectively) zero carbon.

The “zero carbon energy sources” phrase is intended to be inclusive of fuels derived from zero carbon electricity, biomass and the use of CCS, but not of CCU derived energy sources based on the combustion of fossil fuels.
